Monsters Inc.

I wanted to highlight the underlying aspect of the movie, where the whole point is that they're scary. Obviously it's taken down a different route when they meet the human, and then become friends with her and all that jazz. But I wanted to get back to how at the beginning of the movie they show the process in which the monsters take to scare the children, and the extensive process that coincides with scaring the children. I took clips of the monsters scaring children, or where they move swiftly in front of the camera, and put it together in different segments. The segments are broken up by the music and where the song climaxes and where it settles down. This adds the effect of emphasis when something pops up. I also took all the clips and made them black and white, and then turned the shadows down so that the shots are more dramatic. The beginning is the actual Disney trademark from the original movie, but I turned it black and white, and with a little color correcting I was able to make the background white rather than a light gray. The PIXAR intro goes along with the scary theme, with the lighpost killing the "I" and the other letters freaking out. It also adds a little humor to the trailer as a whole. I had a hard time starting this project because with just the normal clips it didn't look like anything spectacular or meaningful at all, but the color correcting and ominous music really brought the whole thing together, especially because I utilized the different parts of the song to add emphasis.
